(MENAFN) Bahrain Development Board's chief economist, Jarmo Kotilaine, stated that the country's economy is projected to grow by over 5 percent in 2013, reported The National.

Kotilaine said that the Kingdom's economy will be one of the leaders in the growth of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the year.

He added that the bulk of the growth will be generated from the country's oil sector, as oil output contributes with 22 percent to the country's GDP and around 90 percent of the government's income.

It is worth noting that finance accounts for 17 to 18 percent of Bahrain's economy, whereas manufacturing makes up 10 percent.
