(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) To commemorate the occasion of Mother's Day, Nova Medical Centre will be organizing a Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp', to raise awareness about breast cancer, including issues related to prevention and early diagnosis, among patients and general public.
The camp will take place on March 24 from 9am to 1pm, at the Nova polyclinic behind the Zawawi Mosque in Al Khuwayr, followed by a surgical club meeting in the evening to further discuss breast cancer screening related issues.
Dr Rajyashree, Dr Malathi and Dr (Col) KM Harikrishnan will be conducting the camp, which is in keeping with the medical centre's aim to provide compassionate health care services in the country. Nova recently organized a successful colorectal cancer awareness programme to celebrate its first anniversary in Oman.
Dr Harikrishnan, GM, operations, Nova, says, ''We chose Mother's Day as the occasion to conduct this camp, as we believe that healthy women are the backbone of a healthy family, society and the country. We also feel it is a perfect opportunity to encourage mothers, aunts, sisters and wives to visit the camp and receive advice on preventive and screening services.
''Our doctors will be using the breastlight device to examine breast tissues and we are hopeful that this screening will increase awareness about breast cancer and spread the message that early detection can lead to complete cure''.
