Toyota China to withdraw 4,400 FJ Cruiser cars

(MENAFN) China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) stated that Toyota will call back 4,400 FJ Cruiser cars in the country, reported Xinhua News. AQSIQ attributed the move to defected seat belts, noting that the affected models were produced between December 2007 and March of the current year. The recent recall is Toyota's second in 2013, as the Japanese carmaker stated in January that it would recall 22,869 units of Lexus IS cars in China. It is worth noting that by the end of last year, China's private auto ownership grew by 18.3 percent from a year earlier to 93.09 million units.
