The country's car output fell 27.1 percent last year to 76,281 units, and the number of imported cars reached 205,000 units.
The government's official newspaper "Governmental Courier" reported that tax on foreign cars will be increased to 12.95 percent, conditional on the engine size.
The move will raise the price of the first-class cars with engine capacity up to 1,500 cubic centimeters by 7.8 percent, whereas that of second-class cars with engine capacity up to 2,200 cubic centimeters will go up by 15.6 percent.
It is worth noting that the increase will be effective starting the 13th of the coming month.
