UAE's aviation industry to employ 400,000 people


(MENAFN) UAE's aviation industry is poised to create more than 400,000 jobs by 2033, official WAM reported. According to Aws Al Khanjari, General Manager, Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies, the aviation business, which now accounts for about 28 percent of the gross domestic product, already employs 224,000 people. The Gulf state's aviation sector is projected to handle more than 85 million passengers this year. The news agency cited a survey by Oxford Economics study as saying that Middle Eastern airlines operate 1,029 aircraft. The GCC region has 36 airports, including eight in the UAE.
