Qatar- Business and Trade Minister Meets French Foreign Trade Minister


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Minister of Business and Trade HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani met here today with French Minister for Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq and her accompanying delegation . During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual interest and ways of enhancing them. A working luncheon was held in honor of the French Minister and the accompanying delegation attended by a number of Qatari and French businessmen. A number of workshops were also held to discuss the trade relations between the two countries. Bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to more than QR 9.1 billion in 2011. It is to be noted that the value of Qatari exports to France is estimated at QR 6.4 billion led by distillation products and mineral fuels, while imports amounted to around QR2.7 billion. Qatar and France were linked with a number trade agreements such as economic and trade cooperation and technical agreements and another one to protect and encourage joint investments.
