Event to shed light on relation between media, GCC petroleum sector -Al-Shammeri 

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The GCC Petroleum Media Forum aims to open up new channels between media organisations and oil authorities in Gulf states, said member of the event's organizing committee Modhi Al-Shammeri.

Kuwait's Ministry of Oil has dispatched many invitations to national and international media organisations to attend the event, due to be held in Kuwait between March 25 and 26 under the patronage of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Oil's chief spokesperson told KUNA.

The event will aim to involve the media in discussions over the future of petroleum-related media, illustrating its vital role and providing adequate coverage for this event that will be held for the first time among the six states of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The talks will cover four main topics, namely the strategic role of petroleum media organisations, the importance of the media in the supporting the spread and boost of petroleum culture in the community, assessing the nature of the relationship between the media and the petroleum sector in the GCC and harvesting electronic evolution in order to reveal the relation between petroleum revenues, economic and social development and the environment in GCC states.
