Australia- CSR to discharge 150 employees

(MENAFN) Australia's CSR stated that as part of a plan to restructure its glass business, the building products firm will lay off nearly 150 employees, reported Xinhua News. In July, Veridian, CSR's loss-making glass unit, will shut down its float and laminating glass facility at Ingleburn in New South Wales, while the firm's two glass processing plants will be consolidated into one by early next year. CSR said that the aim of the restructuring process is to enhance the short- term performance of the business and strengthen Viridian to be able to compete successfully in the future. It is worth noting that those who will be affected by the layoffs might be offered other jobs within the company, according to CSR.
