Hilton to operate USD1b luxury hotel in Jordan

(MENAFN) Jordan is set to welcome a new USD1-billion Hilton operated hotel, reported Arabian Business citing the Jordan Times.

The 475-room luxury hotel, which will be situated at the southeast corner of the airport highway in Amman, will be jointly developed by Singapore's Onix Investments and Koni Konsultants, and Koni Group of Orlando.

The first phase of construction will cost USD350 million according to Jordan Times, which added that the hotel's construction is expected to create nearly 5,000 jobs.

It is worth noting that in 2012, the Kingdom received 6.3 million visitors, with tourism receipts growing by 15.3 percent from 2011, to USD3.47 billion.
