UAE- Kidnapped duo freed, 8 arrested


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Sharjah Police on Thursday freed two Bangladeshis who were kidnapped allegedly by six compatriots and two Pakistanis. The suspects had threatened to harm the victims if failed to pay them ransom. A top police officer said they received a complaint from a Bangladeshi national that M. M. Arshad and M. A. Abdulol were kidnapped by a group of people and taken to an unknown place. The police immediately launched a search and investigation which pointed to the involvement of a Pakistani man. The CID team managed to trace the suspect. The team trailed him to an apartment where the suspects had detained the victims and freed the latter. The police also arrested the eight suspects, who said they kidnapped the duo because they did not repay the money they had borrowed.
