Fahd Al-Hammadi, chairman of the National Committee of Contractors at CSC, and Edip Yenigun, deputy chairman of the Turkish Contractors Association, at the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum held in Riyadh.
(MENAFN - Arab News) The Saudi-Turkish Business Forum, which took place on Monday, explored various aspects of cooperation between the two countries, including training and setting up partnerships between contractors from both sides to take advantage of the vast investment opportunities in the Kingdom where huge development projects are under way.
The forum was a sequel to the National Committee of Contractors at the Council of Saudi Chambers, which had requested the Turkish side to form a reference for contractors in the Kingdom. The committee, represented by its Chairman Fahd Al-Hammadi, was briefed on Turkey's successful track record in the construction sector.
Responding to the Saudi request, Edip Yenigun, deputy chairman of the Turkish Contractors Association, shed light on the Turkish experience in the construction sector during a meeting on the sidelines of the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum held here recently.
Al-Hammadi said that this meeting was a follow-up to previous sessions between both parties, as the committee had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish commission during the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum last year.
The objective was to enhance cooperation among contractors from both sides and overcome obstacles facing them. Al-Hammadi also briefed them on the status of the construction sector in the Kingdom and the development trends in the country.
The meeting began with an introduction to the Turkish commission's vision and the services it provides to its members, besides the organizational aspects of the commission.
It dealt with the important role of the commission in organizing the construction sector in Turkey and its contribution to enhancing the skills and performance of contractors in the country.
According to Al-Hammadi, the Turkish side showed interest in cooperation in different fields in view of their cumulative expertise, which can contribute added value to the Saudi construction market.
Both sides reached an agreement to hold an extensive meeting in Turkey that would include businessmen in the construction sector from both countries in order to strengthen cooperation between them and establish partnerships in different fields, particularly the construction sector, in which Turkey has a successful experience.
The National Committee of Contractors conducts extensive research and analyzes contractors' references in several leading countries in the field of construction.
It interacts with select countries with distinctive experience that is consistent with high professional standards in terms of state possession of advanced construction and availability of contractors of high caliber, in addition to dated experience in the field of organizing such a vital sector.
