Enerji lands waste heat to power deal with first miner

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Enerji (ASX: ERJ) has secured a purchase order from a top 200 ASX-listed mining company for installation preparation of a waste heat to power system at one of its operating gold mines in the Asia Pacific. Significantly, this is the first mining customer to sign on with Enerji, and the mining company intends to enter into further agreements for waste heat to power systems at other mine sites it operates. Enerji will undertake the first stages of design and planning as well as prepare a construction contract for an agreed initial fee. The ultimate goal of the waste heat to power system is to reduce diesel consumption and CO2 emissions. The system is estimated to save over 1 million litres of diesel and thousands of tonnes of CO2 each year. Enerji expects to conduct site visits at the mining company's other mines and begin assessment of their power houses in the coming months. This opportunity represents the potential to install a further three Opcon Powerboxes. Enerji also continues to work on a strong pipeline of potential customers on mine sites and remote town sites. Meanwhile, the company has moved into the commissioning stage and is expecting first power generation in four weeks from its waste heat to power system at Horizon Power's Carnarvon Power Station. Enerji has appointed a contractor to complete some of the final preparations before commissioning and first power generation. The Carnarvon project is the first installation of an Opcon Powerbox outside Europe and the first Enerji installation. The company has also recently established a funding facility that will provide the company access to as much as $1.2 million from current and near term future R&D incentive claims. It is expected that the facility will be secured imminently and Enerji will be able to access an initial $800,000 by 15 March.
