(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Local sailing hero Nasser al Mashari is delighted to be part of Team Duqm Oman for the opening leg of the 2013 ESS, beginning on Tuesday. Speaking to Muscat Daily on Monday, Mashari said, ''I am happy to be back on the Extreme 40 circuit again. I am not worried too much about the fact that the team is confirmed only for one leg.'' He added, ''There are quite a few options in case the team won't continue for the rest of the Series.
Right now, I am focussed on doing well at home. It is nice to have an experienced skipper in Robert Greenhalgh.'' Mashari said, ''Though Extreme 40 racing is my first love, I am ready for any challenge that Oman Sail will entrust me. I am not worried about my future when I have a organisation like Oman Sail supporting me.''
He hinted that in case of the team taking part only in the Muscat, there will be a good chance of him taking part in the Tour de France a la Voile and MOD70 campaigns later this year. Mashari has been racing as an Extreme 40 bowman for two years now. ''I thank the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority, Port of Duqm and Oman Dry Dock for sponsoring our boat,'' he said. ''The Series is a great platform to showcase Oman to the world and I am proud to be part of
