LG sells over 10m LTE smartphones


(MENAFN) LG Electronics announced that its sales of high-speed long-term evolution (LTE) smartphones have exceeded 10 million units so far, reported Xinhua News. The fifth biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world introduced its LTE smartphones in 2012 in nearly 10 countries, including the US, Germany, Japan and South Korea. The South Korean firm, which is expanding its presence in the fast-growing fourth-generation (4G) market, said that by the end of the current month, it will unveil its Optimus G smartphone in approximately 50 countries. It is worth noting that in 2013, shipments of LTE smartphones are expected to grow to 275 million units worldwide, according to Strategic Analytics.
