135,000 leave Kuwait on holidays


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Director of Operations Management at the Kuwait International Airport Essam Al-Zamil says there were about 1,35,000 departures and about 1,37,000 arrivals between Wednesday, February 20 and Tuesday, February 26 while the number of departure flights were 790 and arrival flights were 800, reports Al-Anba daily. Meanwhile, sources revealed that Salmi and Nuwaiseeb border posts witnessed highest number of travelers and traffic particularly in Salmi. They revealed that the congestion in the area was due to large number of public transport vehicles (buses) carrying a large number of individuals of different nationalities heading to Saudi Arabia to perform Omrah. They indicated that the number of travelers who entered the country through Salmi border on Thursday was 7,157 while 22,504 travelers exited, adding that 13,344 individuals entered and 20,362 exited the country through Nuwaiseeb border.
