(MENAFN - Arab News) A total of 3,000 Saudi scholarship students studying in America will be able to receive training at 100 major United States companies before they graduate, said Dr. Mohammad Al-Eissa, Saudi cultural attach in the United States.
"The training of students will start in their last year of study, just six months before graduation," Al-Eissa was quoted as saying in a local newspaper.
"There are a number of agreements with 100 American companies for training, most of them with branches in Saudi Arabia. There is a chance that trainees will end up working for these companies, including Boeing and other factories that manufacture aircraft," he said.
He stressed that the embassy's role is to provide services only and that it has no control over who will be chosen for training. "The student will submit a standard application for training to be assessed by the party concerned, which will then select those who qualify for the position," he said.
He added that the cultural attach's office will end the scholarship of any student found guilty of offending Islam and the Kingdom. "We have not had to deal with any such situation. We are sure that our citizens abroad are responsible patriots."
