Etihad Airways inks codeshare agreement with Kenya Airways

(MENAFN) Etihad Airways president and CEO, James Hogan, announced that the carrier has inked a codeshare deal with Kenya Airways, under which it will place its EY code on the African airline's flights from Nairobi to 27 destinations across its network in Africa, reported Khaleej Times. Hogan said that Kenya Airways will also place its KQ code on Etihad's daily flights from Nairobi to Abu Dhabi and onwards to up to 32 main destinations across the worldwide network of the national carrier of the UAE. Furthermore, from mid-2013, the national flag carrier of Kenya will start a new service between Nairobi and Abu Dhabi, with 3-weekly flights. It is worth noting that the strategic commercial partnership deal will help the two carriers save costs through synergies and economies of scale.
