President Karzai Says Afghans Don't Need Foreign Troops For Security


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai on Saturday said that his people do not need foreign troops to protect the country, urging foreign forces to withdraw quickly. 'Fortunately they are leaving soon,' Karzai said in a speech to young Afghan military officers in Kabul. President Karzai was addressing hundreds of Afghan military officials and officers in an event held under tight security in a newly constructed military academy, according to a report of DPA. 'To defend our soil, we don't need foreign troops,' President Karzai insisted to a round of applause from the audience. 'My soil will be defended by these young officers.'
