Qatar- RasGas, Carnegie Mellon Sign MOU


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) paving the way for mutually beneficial initiatives and projects in the future. The proposed cooperation between the two parties includes providing scholarships and training for CMU-Q students and encouraging them to engage in volunteer work for community service in Qatar. Additionally, the MoU lays the foundation for cooperation in the areas of education and training for RasGas staff and the sharing of professional expertise and researchers in Business Administration, Information Systems and Public Policy. There will also be opportunities for collaboration in the fields of scientific research, and strategic studies, with special emphasis on those targeting the needs of RasGas. Together, both parties hope to organize and host joint specialized conferences, seminars and workshops. RasGas currently enjoys fruitful collaboration and research agreements with many other educational establishments in Qatar including but not limited to Qatar University and Texas A and M University in Qatar. RasGas is owned by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. It operates production facilities to treat, liquefy and export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Based in Ras Laffan, RasGas currently has seven LNG trains in operation.
