Kuwaiti commerce minister visits Jordanian entrepreneurs fund


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Anas Al-Saleh on Tuesday visited the main office of Jordanian initiative Mena Apps, an investment fund dedicated to supporting small business projects assumed by young entrepreneurs. The minister was accompanied by the Chief Executive Malik Abdul-Jaber of the initiative, which currently hosts around 13 projects and is providing job opportunities to around 50 people. "The Kuwaiti government is keen to apply the idea at home by witnessing first-hand some of the success stories that have resulted from the Jordanian initiative," Al-Saleh told KUNA. MENA Apps, a UAE investment fund in Jordan was founded in 2011 by a group of leaders and top professionals from the telecom, applications, media and banking industry who share the vision with regards to the need to open the door for young entrepreneurs from the MENA regions to apply their innovation and creativity and offer this to consumers. For his part, leading executive Abdul-Jaber said of the initiative that it adopts and funds the projects of young entrepreneurs and then offers these services to companies. "This model offers job opportunities to the youth community in Jordan which suffers most from unemployment and has the potential to be expanded to cover the whole Arab region," he added. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti minister departs Amman after a three-day visit, during which he had attended a World Trade Organization Arab Consultation Forum.
