(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Fire Safety Technology Forum Oman, an international meet dedicated to showcasing state-of-the-art technologies and strategies to reduce the risk and spread of fire will be organised in Muscat from March 2 to 5.
The event will be organised by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance in collaboration with International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC).
Annie Jeffcoat, divisional director for IQPC in Oman said, ''The need for a forum to discuss innovative fire safety technology solutions is imperative to the Middle East region.
''It is commendable that concerned ministries are responding to their responsibilities by organising this forum.''
The forum is expected to attract around 100 fire chiefs, officers and engineers and will be the first cross-industry, fire-specific event tailored to address the challenges faced by the fire safety industry in Oman. ''The four-day event will be held at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel following the World Civil Defence Day celebrations on March 1,'' she said.
Brig Eng Mubarak Juma al Ghailani, director general of civil defence will open the Fire Safety Technology Forum Oman on March 2.
The forum will bring together local, regional and international fire safety professionals and experts from across the construction, oil and gas, power and water, defence, infrastructure and tourism sectors.
In addition, fire safety consultants, manufacturers and technology providers will be invited to showcase the latest fire safety products and solutions.
The forum is expected to serve as an interactive platform for all stakeholders to address the existing challenges and discuss key strategies to develop and implement a successful fire safety strategy within Oman.
