Metgasco to spud New South Wales coal seam gas exploration well

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Metgasco (ASX: MEL) has mobilised a drill rig to spud the Bowerbird E04 coal seam gas well in the Clarence Moreton Basin, New South Wales. Bowerbird E04 in PEL 13 is a vertical exploration well designed to further assess the Walloon Coal Measures to the north of the Bowerbird E02 well that was drilled in 2010. It has a total planned depth of 550 metres and will be plugged and abandoned after drilling is completed. Following the completion of this well Metgasco will prepare to drill 3 lateral wells in PEL 16 to demonstrate the productivity of the coal seams and a conventional well to test the Greater Mackellar structure. Metgasco has a 100% interest in PEL13 and PEL 16, which have proved and probable reserves of 31 petajoules and 397 petajoules respectively.
