(MENAFN - ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Brain Resource (ASX: BRC) will partner with MHNet Behavioral Health to extend its offering of brain health tools to MHNet's members.
Brain Resource has been highlighted as a leader in the digital brain health market, which is predicted to grow dramatically by 2020, in a recent SharpBrains, Inc. report.
Under the new agreement, Brain Resource will offer MHNet members its suite of innovative tools to improve brain health, including its flagship product MyBrainSolutions.
MyBrainSolutions.com, the company's web-based program for employee wellness, addresses one of the most challenging aspects of employee health " managing stress in the workplace.
Stress is estimated to cost the U.S. more than 300 billion each year in health care costs, missed work and lost productivity.
MyBrainSolutions is designed to identify an individual's brain profile and recommend training games, exercises and interactive videos to help optimise brain health, enhance memory, improve concentration, boost productivity, manage stress and increase overall health and wellbeing.
This approach is targeted at enabling people to become more resilient at work, at home or when dealing with demanding situations.
Targeting depression
Brain Resource is on track to submit the first Depression Treatment Test to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013.
The test is designed to predict who is most likely to respond to one of the three most used antidepressant medications in the U.S.
Significant positive progress has been made with the FDA with regard to this submission.
Brain Resource is also working on a complementary Genomic Depression Test, analysing 800 genetic variations, which does not require FDA approval.
Depression treatment prediction in the U.S. market will address a spend of more than 11 billion per annum in antidepressants.
Discussions are underway regarding commercialisation, including with payers, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies.
Growing increase in product usage
More than half a million people use Brain Resource's products.
This includes a recent and sustained acceleration of 6% month over month growth in users across the company's consumer and corporate wellness products with more than 114,000 new users since July 2012, as of late November 2012.
