(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) As part of the ongoing Muscat Festival, Muscat Municipality has launched the Muscat Art Festival. Part of this art festival is Creative Process', a seminar on art, language, architecture and technology. It was inaugurated on Wednesday under the patronage of Habib bin Mohammed al Riyami, Secretary General of Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque Auditorium. 

The topic of the first day of the seminar was The Creative Process and the Islamic Art' where presenters spoke about Arabic calligraphy and Islamic art. Dr Ahmed Mustafa, a presenter, said, ''Our gathering today is to discuss the reality and the truthfulness of Islamic art.'' He showed manuscripts in old Arabic calligraphy and pointed out that the Arabic language has 28 letters, which are equal to the 28 mansions of the moon.

Dr Charbel Dagher, a professor from Lebanon, spoke about Islamic photo art and said that understanding Islamic art requires a good knowledge of

science, the Q'uran and cultural references of Arabs. Creative Process will continue till February 28 “ the day  Muscat Festival ends “ with seminars titled Arabic Calligraphy and Beyond', The Creativity Game', 55 years of Mastery in Art Glass', 50 years of Creation', Dali Universe', Opening Your Imagination', The Majestic Muscat - Projects and Architecture Part I and Part II',  From Technology to Art' and The Creative Process in Oman, UK, US, India and Iran'.

On February 13-15 and February 20-22, artist Anwar Sonya, one of the founders of the Omani Art Movement, will hold art classes for children at Amerat Park. The timings will be 5pm to 8pm.

On February 24, Bait al Baranda will host the exhibition,  Present and Past...In a Book' by Bahraini artist Jamal Abdul Rahim. Another exhibition, The Ibex Project', will be held on Februa
