(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Indian film actress Mugdha Godsey was at the Dubai Gold Souk recently to give away 1/4kg gold to a raffle draw winner and pick the weekly mega draw winner in the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group's Dubai Shopping Festival 2013 promotions.
In a Press release, Sunny Chittilappilly, chairman of the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, said that Mugdha was the latest in the series of stars of international repute who come all the way to Dubai every Sunday for the draw.
"All our raffle draws this year were high-profile events. The presence of Bollywood stars made the weekly draws an event that people waited for. Our decision to make the raffle draw an attractive event attended by film stars who have made a mark for themselves in the Indian film industry was a great success and we are thankful to all the stars who made the evenings quite glamourous," he added.
The extensive promotion worked out by the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group for this year's DSF has been well-received. Over 100 jewellery retail outlets across Dubai have participated in the campaign that presented customers with a chance to win one gold coin every hour in the hourly SMS draw, three gold coins at the end of the day and 20 gold coins in the final mega SMS draw, in addition to 1/4kg gold on the daily and one kilo gold each on five weekly raffle draws. To take part in the draw, customers had to spend only Dh1,500 on gold jewellery purchases or Dh800 on the Expo 2020 Dubai, Candidate City special edition gold coin from any of the participating outlets.
The key sponsors of the campaign were Joyalukkas Jewellery, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Meena Jewellers and Sky Jewellery, as well as Atlas Jewellery, Kanz Jewellers and Chittillappilly Jewellers.
