The meetings coincided with the launch of Emirates Airline's direct flight between Dubai and Polish capital Warsaw.

The meeting was also attended by H. H. Sheikh Ahmed conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to the Polish Prime Minister, wishing him good health and happiness. In turn, Tusk also asked Sheikh Ahmed to convey his good wishes to Sheikh Mohammed and the UAE.

Expressing appreciation over the development of UAE-Poland relations, Sheikh Ahmed pointed out that Warsaw was the first new destination for Emirates in 2013 and its 129th route.

Al Mansoori discussed with the Polish Prime Minister ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the area of economic cooperation and creation of investment opportunities. He said the UAE-Poland bilateral trade reached 400 million in 2011 and is expected to be 500 million in 2012.

"The first Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the UAE and Poland is a major milestone in the relationship between our countries. We look forward to utilising this opportunity to enhance the potential for improved business ties in areas of mutual interest," said Al Mansoori.

During the meeting, the Polish Prime Minister lauded the strong partnership and the growing relationship between the UAE and Poland, and expressed appreciation at the official launch of the first Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries.

Commending Emirates Airline on the launch of direct flight between Dubai and Warsaw, Tusk said, "The direct air connectivity between the UAE and Poland will help bring our peoples closer and invigorate business and investment activities in our countries. The UAE is a role model with its focus on economic development and sustained peace and harmony. Poland is happy to join hands with the UAE in fast-tracking growth programmes."
