(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) announced that it would hold a conference on alternatives of refining heavy oil in Cairo on February 12-14, said OAPEC Tuesday.

OAPEC said in a statement that the OAPEC conference, organized by Egypt and a Japanese petroleum center, would focus on means to refine petroleum in ways that were environment friendly.

This is the second time a conference of such caliber is to be organized by OAPEC as a step to explore more opinions within the petroleum industry. A similar conference was held in Cairo in February of 2011 with the theme of the event focusing on measures to transfer hydrocarbon material amongst Arab states.
