(MENAFN - Arab Times) First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed with leading security figures recommendations by a number of Members of the Parliament that aimed at achieving a high and professional level of security in the country.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry's Undersecretary Lieutenant General Ghazi Al-Omar, assistant undersecretaries and departments' directors.

During the meeting, the Minister gave clear directions on eliminating all obstacles and facilitating all means to bring those recommendations to light in order to achieve a high level of performance at the ministry's various bodies.

He also noted that means of technologies and advanced managerial systems should be applied in line with the ministry's work in order to offer secured and smooth services to the public.

He stressed that police and security personnel should be trustworthy and loyal so they could deal with events and circumstances objectively.

Sheikh Ahmad expressed faith in the country's security personnel and encouraged senior officers to take the security and safety of the homeland and its people seriously. He also urged them to persevere with unconditional loyalty and confidence towards their great duty to this country.

On recurrent traffic jams, the minister promised to find permanent solutions for such daily problem.

KUWAIT CITY: A group of former MPs have emphasized the need to continue peaceful movements, which call for respecting the people's rights and to end suppression of freedom; otherwise, the situation will get worse, reports Alam Alyawm daily.

The former lawmakers made the statement in a seminar at the diwaniya of Falah Al-Sawagh in Fintas recently. A large number of citizens, including the former lawmakers attended the seminar entitled, "Kuwait, Where To?"

Former National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun warned the recent incidents pose a grave threat to the country, pointing out that the security officers' suppression of people's rights is an attempt to violate the Constitution.

On the other hand, Al-Sawagh confirmed that whatever they started will continue until the nullification of the incumbent Assembly as this is the only way to put everything back to normal.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Muteeh lamented the situation in the country continues to deteriorate and he wonders what lies ahead for the entire nation.

He asserted, "People are merely demanding for what is rightfully theirs and calling for the implementation of reforms, but the authorities have been using intimidation tactics against them, instead of supporting them.
