(MENAFN) Airbus stated that it has inked a USD9 billion agreement with US Air Lease Corporation for 25 aircraft, reported Xinhua News.

The French plane maker said that the ordered planes are the newest, most fuel efficient A350, the largest member of the A350 XWB extra wide body family.

The new model would help carriers expand their businesses and at the same time lower their operating costs and emissions as the aircraft uses 25 percent less fuel and provides an equivalent decrease in CO2 emissions.

The A350 XWB will enter into service next year, whereas the A320neo will enter into service in late 2015, and the A321neo in 2016.

The latest order takes Airbus' A350 XWB production backlog to 617.

It is worth noting that Air Lease Corporation will also confirm options for 14 A321neo planes, following a previous agreement announced at the 2012 Farnborough International Air Show, along with 36 A320neo planes.
