Extreme booster - The highest ride
One needs a little more than just courage to try this ride, which accommodates eight persons at a time, four on each side. The ride starts slowly, taking people to a height of 25m after which the seats start spinning at a fast rate, and then plummet.
''We have reduced the fall speed here on request. We are doing good business. This ride is for adults. At least 100 visitors have taken the ride in the past two hours,'' said Deedar ul Salaam, the ride's owner. The four-minute ride costs RO1 per person.
Ranger - Hanging in the air
This 20m high ride can accommodate 32 joyriders, 16 on each side. Enough precautions have been taken to ensure safety, like waist belts, shoulder locking devices and special cages to secure people.
After moving clockwise and anti-clockwise for a while, one side of the ride halts for some seconds at 90 while the riders who are sitting upside down, scream their lungs out. ''This ride was really scary,'' said Anas al Balushi. ''I am here with my friends. The scariest part is when you are clinging to the bars and fearing that they will open any moment.''
''More than 1,000 people took the ride over two days,'' said the owner of the ride. This one, too is a four-minutes ride and costs RO1 per person.
Tagada - The bumpiest ride
Here, thrill-seekers sit in a large bowl-like section with no belts but just the rail bars to hold on to. The ride can accommodate 45 people and begins with music as hydraulic arms bounce riders up and down. This five-minute ride ensures total fun. ''At least 1,600 people have experienced this ride in the past two days,'' its operator said. The ride has emerged as a favourite among groups of visitors who want to have fun together. Each ride costs RO1.5 per person.
Over rider
A ride that rotates with bumps at an angle of 120. Riders feel butterflies in their stomachs as the ride gets faster. This four-minute ride will see yourself flinging your arms about. ''I think it was fun. It's an easier ride though. It surprises you. It starts all over again just when you think it's all over,'' said Tara Marooki, a visitor. Each ride costs RO1.
Extreme - The Monster ride
This one resembles the claws of a bird. Each claw carries 12 joyriders on one side. Both the sides reach 45 and cross each other while tossing people from side to side. Beware of your personal belongings as they may be flung away during the five minutes of this crazy ride. Over 5,000 visitors have already experienced this ride since Thursday. Each ride costs RO1.5.
