Bitumen for Muscat airport meets latest industry specs: Shell Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Shell Oman said it has completed the first year of supply of polymer modified bitumen (PMB) to run the Muscat International Airport. PMB production and delivery was according to specifications set by the consultant and the contractor, the company said in a press release.

Last year, Shell Oman entered into an agreement with the main contractor, Consolidated Contractors Co Oman LLC, for supply of bitumen to the Muscat International Airport runway and aircraft taxi ways.

The project requires continuous supply of bitumen and on-site production of Shell PMB that meets the industry's latest specifications used for airport runway, major highways part and intersections. Said al Rawahi, general manager, commercial, Shell Oman, said, ''It is a proud moment for Shell Oman to be part of this prestigious project and it is our commitment to be the trusted partner of choice to supply ‘superpave' technology for our customers. We ensure prompt deliveries to all our customers and set high standards for our PMB product.''<
