(MENAFN - Arab News) Yemen's President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi conveyed his warm congratulations to Prince Muqrin on his appointment as the second deputy premier of Saudi Arabia on Friday.

While the Governor of Asir Prince Faisal bin Khaled said the appointment of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's Special Adviser and Special Envoy Prince Muqrin as the new second deputy premier served primarily the better interests of the people.

"The king's decision is in the interest of the citizens and the nation in the first place. All the people in this blessed country are soldiers ready to serve their country and to bear the burden of its people, small or big," Prince Faisal said, while congratulating Prince Muqrin.

He added that the Kingdom entered a period of prosperity, progress and awakening during the age of King Abdullah who aspires to ensure the welfare of all people in the country.

President of the Youth Welfare Prince Nawaf bin Faisal congratulated and wished Prince Muqrin success in his key role as the second deputy premier of the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

President of the Meteorology and Environmental Protection Prince Turki bin Nasser said Prince Muqrin's appointment, as second deputy premier is a crowning moment for his patriotic services to the nation and its people.

Prince Turki added that every Saudi is proud of Prince Muqrin's achievements.
"This appointment, which is made in the interest of the country and the people, will further strengthen the stability and status of the Kingdom, especially under the leadership of King Abdullah," he said while congratulating Prince Muqrin on Friday.

Taif Governor Fahd bin Abdul Aziz wished success to the prince in his important position in a message of congratulation.

Abdullah Al-Mubti, chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce, said the choice has fell on the prince who is well-known for his administrative experience and excellent services in the security field apart from his deep understanding of the affairs of the state.

The prince is a multi-faceted personality with invaluable experience gathered from wide-ranging positions including his appointment as governor of Hail and Madinah provinces, chief of the General Intelligence and special adviser to the king besides serving as a royal envoy, he said.

Bakri Assas president of the Umm Al-Qura University said Prince Muqrin has a unique personality that combines nobility, exemplary character and humility fostered by wisdom and political acumen.

In his congratulatory message, Assas also prayed for Prince Muqrin's success in serving the Kingdom, which draws its power from the Shariah of Islam and the Sunnah (the teachings and practices) of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
