(MENAFN) Kuwait's emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, stated that his country will provide the Syrians with a financial aid worth USD300 million, reported Arabian Business.
The amount will be used to finance humanitarian needs for those affected by the conflict, both in the war-torn country and in neighboring states that gave refuge to nearly 700,000 Syrians.
An aid donor conference was held in the emirate to collect USD1 billion of aid to Syria's neighboring countries, including Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon, in addition to a further USD500 million for the 4 million Syrians who still live in their country.
Meanwhile, the UAE has promised to provide USD300 million to aid Syrian refugees in neighboring countries, according to the official WAM news agency.
It is worth noting that recently, US President Barack Obama has also pledged an additional USD155 million in humanitarian help for Syria, raising the total US aid to nearly USD365 million.
