French court 'blocks Peugeot job cuts'

(MENAFN- AFP) A French appeal court has suspended a restructuring plan involving 8,000 job cuts at carmaker Peugeot Citroen as sought by the CGT union at parts subsidiary Faurecia, the lawyer for the workers Fiodor Rilov said on Tuesday.

The CGT union had argued that the management of PSA Peugeot Citroen had not fulfilled its legal obligations to inform staff representatives and in particular the European works committee.
