(MENAFN Press) HONG KONG--MediaOutreach--25 January 2013--
Pacnet announced today that it has enhanced Pacnet CDN, its content delivery network (CDN) service, with the addition of two new CDN Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in China, increasing the performance and speed of digital content delivery in the country.
Strategically located in Guangzhou and Tangshan, the two new PoPs will provide coverage of the northern and southern regions of China, and are situated close to major cities including Beijing and Shanghai where most of the country's digital content is consumed.
"As more Internet users come online in China, the country's insatiable thirst for digital content is expected to continue to grow at high rates," said Jim Fagan, President of Managed Services, Pacnet. "These two new PoPs are keys to our strategy to capitalize on that increasing demand."
The two new China PoPs, together with the CDN deployments during 2012 in India, Korea and Taiwan, have enhanced Pacnet CDN's reach across the Asia Pacific region. Along with the four CDN PoPs previously deployed in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, Pacnet now has a total of nine self-owned and managed CDN PoPs in the region. By deploying more CDN PoPs, Pacnet is able to store and deliver digital content at CDN PoPs in local markets, which accelerates the speed and distribution of content, such as rich media and applications, to Internet users.
Additionally, through its CDN federation partners in Europe and the United States, Pacnet has access to a total of 42 PoPs worldwide.
Pacnet CDN, which rides on Pacnet's wholly-owned network and hosting infrastructure, delivers a comprehensive suite of solutions, including Content Delivery Service, Dynamic Content Acceleration, Content Origin Storage and Value-Added Services.
