Lebanese W Motors to shift LykanHypersport production to UAE, Qatar

(MENAFN) W Motors' chairman and COO, Ralph Debbas, announced that the Beirut-based carmaker will start producing the LykanHypersport in the UAE and Qatar, reported Arabian Business. Debbas, who in the past designed for luxury auto manufacturers, including Land Rover and Aston Martin, said that the production of the USD3.4 million sports car will be moved from Italy to the two Arab countries. He added that the LykanHypersport 2013 car, which will be displayed at the Qatar Motor Show on the 29 of the current month, includes LED lights covered with 15 carats of diamonds, a gold-stitched leather interior and a reverse door-opening system. It also speeds up from zero to 100 kmph in 2.8 seconds, and can reach a maximum speed of 390 kmph. The company, which started operations in 2006, plans to make a cheaper model of the Lykan for November's Dubai Auto Show with a price tag of USD1.6 million. It is worth noting that the LykanHypersport 2013 is the first luxury sports car to be designed and produced by an Arab.
