(MENAFN- Arab Times) A Kuwaiti citizen sustained minor burn wounds when he set himself on fire at Salmiya Police Station in an attempt to commit suicide after he was arrested.
According to security sources, the Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for consumption of alcohol and for his involvement in several cases. However, after he was taken to Salmiya Police Station, he lit a piece of cloth and set himself on fire. Securitymen at the station took the Kuwaiti citizen outside the station and extinguished the fire.
When the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the incident, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location and treated him. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the suicide attempt.
