UK's financial services firms report improved sentiment


(MENAFN) The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and PwC latest survey showed that optimism among financial services companies picked up in the 3 months to December 2012, compared with the previous quarter, reported Xinhua News. The survey revealed that businesses were more positive about the business situation in the country, in spite of a decline in business volumes. According to the survey, of the 94 firms covered, 25 percent said that business volumes grew, whereas 30 percent said they dropped. However, businesses forecast volumes in the coming 3 months to recover notably. Sentiment among investment managers in the sector improved for the fourth straight quarter, due to the growth in business volumes and incomes. On the other hand, 91 percent of respondents showed high uncertainty over the regulatory environment, the highest level in over 20 years of survey data.
