Kidman Resources to drill Northern Territory copper targets

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors - Australia) Kidman Resources (ASX: KDR) has committed to a 50 hole drilling program to test targets at both the Home of Bullion and Prospect D projects in the Northern Territory. The 5,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling and 3,000 metres of diamond drilling will test seven targets at Home of Bullion and two targets at Prospect D that were identified through electromagnetic surveys undertaken late last year. These targets are located up to 800 metres along strike and down-plunge from the high grade polymetallic mineralisation identified in the 2012 maiden drill program. Previous drilling by Kidman at Home of Bullion has hit peak results of 6 metres at 9.5% copper equivalent while historical drilling has yield 16.5 metres at 5.77% copper and 32.9 metres at 2.44% copper. The aim of the drill program is to confirm the presence of copper mineralisation along strike and down-plunge of known lenses identified from the EM surveys. The previously drilled Main Lode was readily recognizable from the FLEM modeling as a strong conductor plunging to the north-east. If the other FLEM/DHEM conductors are confirmed, this could potentially add significant tonnage to the HOB prospect supporting Kidman's goal to develop a maiden resource. At Prospect D, copper and nickel mineralisation has been identified for over 2 kilometres. The upcoming drill program will focus on the shallow but high grade copper-nickel zones within that area with the aim to define the geometry and plunge of the mineralisation. This will assist future drillhole targeting. Further to that, a strong DHEM target left untested by previous explorers will also be drilled.
