New ambulance station opens doors at Dubai Investments Park

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Dubai Investments Park (DIP), the largest mixed-use development in the UAE and a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, announced the ambulance station, part of a recently opened fire-fighting facility, is now fully functional following its official inauguration on 16 January, 2013. The ambulance facility, located at DIP Zone 2, was officially inaugurated by Khalifa Bin Darai, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, in the presence of Khalid Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO, Dubai Investments PJSC, and Omar Mesmar, General Manager, DIP. The construction of the fully-provisioned DIP ambulance station was completed in December last year, and put through rigorous standards and security checks by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. The ambulance units will be manned round-the-clock in four work shifts with the team including a driver and two paramedics to attend to distress calls. Featuring a fire-fighting quadrant built on a total area of 684.62 square metres, the entire facility has three covered parking docks for fire-fighting trucks, and an adjoining parking space for two ambulances measuring 122.35 square metres. Bin Darai said: "The new ambulance station is equipped to address the needs of the growing population in this part of the city. This is in line with our vision to reduce the incidence of loss of life and to provide immediate medical attention in case of emergencies. Our mission is to develop a well-connected network of ambulance dispatch services across Dubai. We laud the efforts of Dubai Investments Park to ensure the complete safety and security of its tenants." Omar Al Mesmar said: "Our intention is to provide our tenants, as well as the day-time population, collectively totalling over 75,000 the full advantage of being in a city-within-a-city-like development. Emergency services such as those provided by the ambulance station form an integral part of establishing a secured living and working environment. We are indeed pleased to achieve a considerable level of self-sufficiency in this regard." Besides covering the entire expanse of DIP, the facility will offer rescue and ambulance services for road hazards around the development, including Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed road, Lehbab road and Bypass road. The ambulance personnel will report to the Al Manara Centre of Dubai Municipality, located on Sheikh Zayed Road. Dubai Investments Park is one of the largest business and residential communities in the Middle East region. As of January 2012, the park hosts 1,060 tenants and 1,469 sub-tenants on a total leased area of 1,700 hectares. Strategically located within minutes from the Jebel Ali International Airport, DIP is a self-contained city featuring state-of-the-art facilities and world-class infrastructure.
