Chinese Huawei 2012 profit climbs 33%


(MENAFN) China's Huawei Technologies' CFO, Cathy Meng, announced that the firm's unaudited net profit for 2012 jumped by 33 percent from 2011, reported Reuters. The world's second-largest telecom equipment maker made USD2.5 billion profit last year, compared with the USD1.84 billion posted in 2011. Meng added that revenue in the aforementioned period reached USD35.09 billion, representing an increase of 8 percent from a year earlier. The world's sixth-largest mobile phone retailer attributed the notable growth to new telecom projects and smartphone sales.
