(MENAFN - Arab Times) As time draws near to deliver judgments on cases involving the storming of National Assembly, abuse of Amiri entity, assault of security operatives and destruction of public property at the public rallies, there are indications that government is planning to grant the suspects a blanket pardon for committing these crimes, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

A reliable source was quoted as saying the situation is likely to strain the current calm and cordial relationship between the parliamentary and executive authorities, adding the lawmakers may declare war through barrages of questions and grilling proposals.

The MPs are prepared for a clash, in case the offenders escape punishment for their actions, the source stressed.

For his part, MP Faisal Al-Duwaisan said the lawmakers are aware that government is planning to pardon the violators by withdrawing cases the against them, and "I wish Kuwait the best if this information is true."

MP Nabel Al-Fadhel noted that Kuwait and its leaders will benefit nothing from such an action than intensified problems!

He expressed great concern over the fact that government has not denied or affirmed the rumor. He wondered when we are going to end these kinds of frivolities.

In a more serious note, MP Abdul-Hamid Dashti said there will be an avenue for catastrophe if rumor concerning the blanket pardon is true, indicating the situation warrants series of grilling and questioning to challenge the decision.

He also said the parliament will confirm the true position of the matter from His Highness the Prime Minister during a meeting on Tuesday, and "we will address a press conference to state our stance on the efforts to weaken government control, if the minister affirms it".
