(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Most GCC markets traded higher on Sunday and the Muscat Securities Market general index edged marginally higher, 0.07 per cent, to close at 5,810.61.Trading activity hovered around the year-to-date average level as a total of 1,445 trades were executed generating a turnover of RO5.01mn while 23.35mn shares were exchanged over the counters.Market breadth stood in favour of advancers as of the 46 securities traded for the day 15 advanced while 13 declined and 18 stocks closed unchanged.The top gainers for the day were Oman Cables Industry (7.13 per cent at RO1.32), Global Financial Investment (2.00 per cent at 102bz), Ominvest (1.92 per cent at 372bz), Taageer Finance (1.90 per cent at 161bz) and Construction Material Industries (1.82 per cent at 56bz) while the top losers for the day were Port Services Corporation (-0.92 per cent at 540bz), Omantel (-0.75 per cent at RO1.44), National Bank of Oman (-0.67 per cent at 295bz), Gulf International Chemicals (-0.58 per cent a 173bz) and Bank Sohar (-0.57 per cent at 174bz).Among the sectoral indices, the Financial sector index edged higher by 0.26 per cent with support from BankDhofar (0.82 per cent at 369bz). The Industrial sector index rose the most for the day and closed up 0.77 per cent owing to gains in Oman Cables while the Services sector index dropped 0.08 per cent.By arrangement with National Bank of Oman
