UAE- Man jailed for stealing excavator

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Criminal Court, on Thursday, sentenced a sales executive to two years in jail for stealing an earth moving machine of a private company in Dubai before moving it to Al Ain. He also forged ownership of a car. The court ordered the deportation of the 26-year-old Arab after serving his jail term. The case dates back to January 2012, when the police was informed that the suspect had stolen the excavator, and stashed it in Al Ain. The Dubai Police coordinated with their Al Ain counterpart, and the place where the earth moving machine was believed to have been kept was monitored. The police also spotted a motor vehicle moving around the neighborhood in a way that raises suspicion. The registration number was noted and information showed that it belonged to a car rental office, and that the suspect had leased it. The police arrested him and found a forged ownership motor vehicle certificate that was not issued by the Roads and Transport Authority. The police also discovered that he had forged the documents of the vehicle which were stamped by the RTA. The public prosecution has referred him to the criminal court after accusing him of theft and forgery.
