Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has taken back 17 buildings in Abdali area. These buildings were given to companies to raise animals and store fodder, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
A source was quoted as saying PAAAFR, upon the directives of government, decided to take back the buildings because the companies had shown no seriousness to initiate the projects.
Board Chairman of PAAAFR Eng Jassem Mohamed Habib Al-Bader has imposed a ban on the import of all kinds of birds and eggs from Australia, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
Sources explained Al-Bader took the decision after the International Organization for Animal Health (OIE) released its report on the discovery of avian flu in Australia recently.
