(MENAFN - Arab News) For the third year in a row, and following the huge success of previous years, Toyota ALJ launched the "Toyota Dream Car Art Contest" to give Saudi Arabia's younger generations an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents by illustrating the car of their dreams and win numerous prizes including a trip to Japan with one of their parents.
The Dream Car Art Contest activities kicked off during the Saudi International Motor Show in Jeddah at a special corner designed especially for children.
It turned out to be highly popular and created an inspiring environment for the children.
Last year, from an initial 2,800 entries in Saudi Arabia, the winning artworks were sent to Japan for the world contest.
One of the winners from Saudi Arabia, Mariam, won a place in the finals of the worldwide contest and went to Japan with her family to collect her award from Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Also, two winners from Saudi Arabia received signed certificates from Akio Toyoda for being official finalists.
Three age groups of the Kingdom's younger generation have the chance to express their artistic talent and design their own vehicle of the future in the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.
The Kingdom is one of the 64 countries participating in the seventh edition of the competition and winners of the Saudi National Contest, which is organized by Abdul Latif Jameel Co. Ltd. (ALJ), will be entitled to be entered in the World Contest.
If selected they will have the chance to win a trip to Japan.
"It is the third consecutive year of the Dream Car Art competition in the Kingdom," said Adel Ezzat, managing director of marketing at ALJ.
"It is part of our commitment to encourage children to express their joy and artistic talents, and utilize their imagination to design the cars of the future."
The contest is now open and the last date for receiving entries is February 25.
