Vodafone Qatar's subscriber base hits 1m

(MENAFN) Vodafone Qatar's CEO, Richard Daly, stated that at the current time, the number of the company's subscribers exceeds 1 million, reported Arabian Business. Daly said that the company, which has started operations in the country since 3 years, would continue to use its international expertise to introduce new and exciting services to its clients in Qatar. He added that 55 percent of the Qatari population use Vodafone's services now, which is a great achievement for the firm. In 2012, the company, which ended Qatar Telecom's (Qtel) domestic monopoly in 2009, started its post-paid services that are forecasted to attract subscribers from Qtel and enhance margins. It is worth noting that in November, Vodafone Group, which holds 23 percent stake in Vodafone Qatar, said that it has prolonged an agreement to manage the loss-making unit until 2018 and will take a smaller percentage of its revenues under the new conditions.
