(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A comprehensive strategy is being set forth to tackle housing in light of increasing demand, said Minister of Communications and State Minister for Housing Affairs Salem Al-Uthaina on Monday.
Talking to reporters at a housing exhibition, he expressed optimism that plans for several "housing cities" were being carried out in haste.
Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare has come up with a number of solutions to the problem, including what he described as housing applications through a "mechanized system" that would accelerate the process and reduce the required paperwork.
On the exhibition, he viewed it was a perfect opportunity for consumers to be updated on the latest offers at hand and the most competitive of prices on the market, where private sector companies are concerned.
The exhibition, which started earlier on Monday and ends on January 17, is showcasing the country's real estate and construction companies.
Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare's Director General Subhi Al-Mulla said that plans for two blocks in two new cities (Jaber Al-Ahmad and Sabah Al-Ahmad) have been finalized, with each block containing around 3,387 homes.
