Samsung says sales of Galaxy smartphones exceed 100m units


(MENAFN) Samsung Electronics announced that sales of its Galaxy smartphones exceeded 100 million units globally after only 31 months of the models' introduction, reported Xinhua News. The world's top smartphone maker said that sales of the Galaxy S, which was launched in June 2010, surpassed 24 million units, whereas sales of the Galaxy S2, introduced in March 2011, reached nearly 40 million units. Furthermore, the company, which launched the Galaxy S3 in May last year, added that sales of the model exceeded 40 million units. It is worth noting that Samsung Electronics' operating profit in the fourth quarter of 2012 hit a record high of USD8.3 billion.
