(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Twenty-five per cent of the total registration fees of the inaugural Dolphin Energy Doha Dash will be presented to support the community programmes of Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Reach Out to Asia (ROTA), event organisers pledged.
The first ever Dolphin Energy Doha Dash will be held on February 12 at the Losail International Circuit, as part of the celebrations planned for Qatar National Sport Day.
Dolphin Energy, which has offices in Doha and Abu Dhabi, is sponsoring the event as part of its initiative to spur community sports in Qatar and support ROTA, event organisers Professional Sports Group (PSG) said.
A private non-profit organization, part of the Qatar Foundation and guided by Chairperson HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, ROTA seeks to extend its human development mission to an international arena by bringing high-quality primary and secondary education to the less fortunate across Asia.

The money raised from the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash will support ROTA's work in providing high quality primary and secondary education in crisis affected countries in Asia and around the world, as well as supporting the NGO's proactive community and youth programmes in Qatar.
PSG CEO Jamie Cunningham said, "We are proud to be able to support ROTA through the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash. We would like to invite the community here to join us as we celebrate National Sport Day and help us to raise a significant donation for the charity.
The Dolphin Energy Doha Dash aims to encourage a healthy lifestyle and the fee to enter the 5kms run is QR 100, for the 3kms its QR 50 while the 1km run for children and the 1km ladies walk is free.
ROTA's Fundraising, Events, and Marketing Director Mohammed Al Naama said, "We are honoured Dolphin Energy has selected ROTA to be the Official NGO of the first Doha Dash. ROTA welcomes Dolphin Energy's initiative to create a major new family event that brings communities together and promotes a healthy lifestyle based on regular exercise."
